Tom Brady falling in love with Brandon LaFell

Brandon LaFell opening eyes in New England (WBZ-TV)
Tom Brady might be falling in love with Brandon LaFell, and who can blame him? With Aaron Dobson just coming off the PUP list and Rob Gronkowski making his way back slowly, LaFell is by far the largest target Brady has had consistently this camp. After a slow start, LaFell has come into himself and is playing like he should. Comfort with the playbook has allowed the 6'3" 210 lb wide receiver to shore up his hands and build his chemistry with Tom Brady. And it has shown as of late.

ProFootballTalk:
“I’ve really enjoyed being with him,” Brady told reporters regarding LaFell. “He’s added a lot. He’s got a real love for the game, and he does a great job out there getting open. He just keeps making more plays. It’s really fun for a quarterback to see guys out there really working hard to make the improvements and then really do it, and hopefully it continues to carry over. It’s been a lot of fun to be with him.”

And during practice, Tom and LaFell have had some fun at the defense's expense.

If LaFell continues this upwards trend of succeeding in New England, he could become a pivotal component of this offense which they didn't have last year. Having a bigger bodied receiver, who can play every WR position due to his athleticism and size, allows the Patriots to open up the playbook more to utilize him. Also, having a large WR will help tremendously in the end zone, especially if defenses have to worry about Dobson, Rob Gronkowski and LaFell all outsizing their DBs.

Tonight's preseason game against the Eagles should show LaFell in more game action, and now with Brady at the helm. It will be excited to see what this combination can do together for a full 60 minutes
