Gronk is ready, but are the Patriots?
Gronk was quoted earlier saying that he will be ready to go come week one, and that he feels optimistic about playing and being able to perform. Well it turns out that Gronk may be ready, but the Patriots are slightly less positive about his return.
So here's the thing, I love that this is what Belichick said. Partially because it is absolutely the only thing we would expect Belichick to say in this situation, and secondly because it proves that he is looking out for this team (lets be honest, when isn't he?). Gronk may feel great, but the team and their doctors are obviously going to look to keep him healthy for as along as possible. If that means he misses week one then so be it. Id rather have him for the end of the season when much more is on the line.
On a fantasy league note, do not think twice about getting Gronk on your team if you have the chance. Provided he stays healthy this year, its going to be a great time to watch him work and make you some serious points for your roster. Therefore, I say draft him. He may be weak or a non factor for a few weeks, but in the long run he is going to put up power numbers. Which is why I picked him to have more than eight touchdowns this year.

BB: I'm glad Rob [Gronkowski] feels optimistic....In the end, we're going to make the decision that's best for the football team. #Patriots

Belichick: "With all due respect to Rob, I'm glad he feels the way he does, but in the end, we'll do what's best for the team."
