Three reasons why the Patriots should call Richie Incognito

I know many of you are thinking, there's no way in hell that the Patriots need Richie Incognito! Well let me respond by saying three words... offensive line problems. Here are three reasons why Incognito could help.

Reason #1 - Chip on his shoulder

There is nothing more motivating then trying to show people that you've changed. Listen, I believe that Incognito's bullying of fellow teammates was wrong. His suspension was punishment enough for his actions. Like everyone, I believe he made a costly mistake and paid the price. This doesn't mean he shouldn't get a second chance. Combine all of this with the opportunity to play your former team, what more motivation does one need?

Reason #2 - Filling a need on the cheap

The Patriots brass love to go bargain bin shopping. We all know that Richie is sitting on his couch somewhere just waiting for his phone to ring. He is so desperate that he would practically pay New England for another shot. I ask again why not go after Richie Incognito? He is a medium risk with high reward and can provide the scrappiness that we saw with Logan Mankins.

Reason #3 - The "Patriot Way" trumps all

The Patriot Way is not only a motto, it is a value that is ingrained into every person employed by the organization. The formula works in most cases (except Aaron Hernandez). Many problematic players join the Patriots and revive their career. Look at Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, LeGarrette Blount, and the list goes on. So why not Richie Incognito? There is no better team that can keep the media at bay. Plus the veteran leadership in the locker room would straighten out the immature offensive lineman. I would pay top dollar to see him even try to bully someone like Vince Wilfork. Let's not forget that there aren't as many off the field distractions in New England like there is in Miami.

I'd give it another week of poor play from our offensive line before the Patriots need to explore other options. Let's hope that someone doesn't beat us to the punch. Yeah I am talking to you, Philadelphia Eagles.
