Former Patriot Jeff Demps finds a spot in Indianapolis

Olympic medal winner Jeff Demps has found a place in the NFL, for now. The Colts signed Jeff Demps to their practice squad in addition to tight end Konrad Reuland.
The former Florida Gator was not drafted in 2012 because he skipped the combine in order to practice for the summer Olympics. He later signed a 3 year contract with the New England Patriots and was placed on injured reserve after being injured in preseason. The next year the Patriots sent Demps to the Bucs for running back LeGarrette Blount. Earlier this year Tampa Bay cut Demps before finalizing their 53 man roster.
Demps may even get some playing time if the current Colts returner doesn't shape up. According to Stephen Holder of the Indy Star:
Current return man Griff Whalen has been uneven of late, showing issues with his ballhandling and decision-making in fielding punts, in particular. That's impacted field position, as it did on Sunday. That's when the Colts began a drive at the 2-yard line after Whalen let a punt drop and take a favorable roll for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Do you think Demps has a shot of being a starter for the Colts? Do you think he will be on the active roster when the Patriots play them November 16th? Let us know in the comments section!
