As the NFL trade deadline looms, several players are reportedly available. One of those players is Justin Tuck of the Oakland Raiders.

Mark Sessler, NFL.com:
Oakland signed Justin Tuck to a two-year, $11 million contract in the offseason, but the Raiders pass rusher might not finish that deal on the West Coast if the right offer is made.

With Chandler Jones being out for an extended period of time it makes sense for the Patriots to be looking for pass rush help. Is Justin Tuck the help they are looking for? He's not the unstoppable rusher he was when he was in his prime but he has shown he can still get to the quarterback in a situational pass rusher role. He has two sacks in 6 games this year and has a +10.1 Pro Football Focus grade, second-best on the Raiders defense.

Tuck signed a 2 year 10 million dollar contract with the Raiders this last offseason. He has a cap hit of 5 million this year but 4.5 million of that is dead money. Meaning in a trade the Raiders have absorbed most of his cap hit if he is cut after the year. Making him a cheap rental if the initial compensation is a late round draft pick.

Will the Patriots make a deal for him? We will know today by the 4 p.m. deadline.
