Geno Smith says he has played like a pro bowler

Eric Edholm, Yahoo:
"I've shown flashes of being a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback, but what we're looking for here is consistency. The best teams have consistent quarterback play and I realize that and that's truly what I want to show to the fans and everyone outside the building," Smith said Tuesday at a New York Cares coat drive to help the homeless.

Maybe, Geno Smith is talking about bowling, not football. On the season, Geno has been intercepted 12 times, fumbled twice, and thrown eight TD passes. He was benched for three consecutive games, threw only 13 times against Miami in Week 13, and has thrown eight pick-sixes in his 27 game career. He is also the lowest rated passer in the NFL. Geno's rating is 68.0. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is at 119.0

There is never a shortage of optimism in the Jets' locker room. The bar was set a bit too high this year after three consecutive 8-8 seasons. "It's almost exciting to think about all the room for improvement that we have. But at the same time, we've got to really hone in on the 'right now," said Smith. At 2-14, there should be plenty of room.

Former Los Angeles Lakers great, Magic Johnson wants his Lakers to "tank" and lose every game so the team can get the highest draft pick possible. The New York Jets are tied with the Titans, Buccaneers and Raiders for the top choice. New York faces the Titans in Tennessee on Sunday. I hope Magic Johnson will be watching the Jets with QB Geno Smith at the helm maneuvering the 2015 draft order.

The top two signal callers for the draft in 2015 are Oregon QB Marcus Mariota(Suck for the Duck) and Florida State QB Jameis Winston(Suffer for the Seminole). Geno could even ruin that by leading the Jets to victory.

12.5 million people watched last year's NFL Pro Bowl. The teams are now selected by captains in a fantasy draft. I wouldn't be waiting by the phone for the call if I were you, Geno.
