Darrelle Revis' mother was denied entry to Patriots ring ceremony

Darrelle Revis was unable to attend the Patriots' ring ceremony at owner Robert Kraft's house last Sunday due to a prior commitment, but he was still going to be represented by his mother, Diana Askew.

Except Askew was denied entry into the event.

Askew apparently had been informed the invitation was non-transferable (no word on when that happened) and that the Patriots wanted to keep it to players only. She was able to get his ring the next morning at Gillette Stadium.

Revis, now with the Jets, seems to have already moved on from his time with the Patriots. He did attend the team's visit to the White House, but made some questionable comments about Tom Brady and Deflategate.

The marriage between Revis and the Patriots, however, was a good one. The Patriots got the shut-down corner back they needed, and both parties got Super Bowl rings out of it.
