Pats work out six FAs, including RB Montee Ball, tight end Brandon Bostick

It may be a bye week for the 3-0 New England Patriots, but that doesn't mean that head coach Bill Belichick and the rest of the coaching staff are taking time off.

The Pats hosted a handful of free agents for workouts on Tuesday, highlighted by former Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball. The team also worked out another back in Darrin Reaves, along with tight ends Brandon Bostick (yes, that Brandon Bostick), Brian Leonhardt and Konrad Reuland, as well as quarterback Zac Dyzert, according to Doug Kyed of NESN.

Ball is no doubt the biggest of the names brought in for a kick of the tires, as the former 2013 second-round pick rushed for 731 yards and five touchdowns in two seasons with the Broncos in their final wave of roster cuts on September 6.

After the release of Travaris Cadet yesterday, the team is operating with Dion Lewis, LeGarrette Blount, James White and Brandon Bolden on the depth chart. Perhaps they liked what they saw with Ball, perhaps not.

Meanwhile, seeing Bostick in town for a workout is interesting, and to a degree it's good to see a player that cost his team a trip to the Super Bowl with one of the most incredible blunders you'll ever see is still getting a chance to find work in his profession. It has roughly a .0005% chance of happening here, but hey, stranger things have happened.
