Report: Dominique Easley (hip pointer) expected to miss 1-2 weeks

It looks like the Pats have dodged a major bullet with defensive tackle Dominique Easley.

According to Ian Rapaport of the NFL Network, Easley suffered a hip pointer and is only expected to miss one to two weeks of action. Easley went down early in the contest, immediately reaching for his left hip as he came off the snap.

Easley pulled up and grabbed at his hip, a reaction that had many holding their breath that the injury was a muscle tear or something much more serious. Rapaport's report gives us a sigh of relief that the lineman isn't expected to miss too much time.

After an impressive training camp and preseason, Easley was primed to take a huge leap forward as a dynamic weapon on the D-Line. His explosiveness off the ball and ability to puncture the line to get in the backfield caused all kinds of havoc through the preseason, which had fans excited to see him take that next step.

He'll be slowed down a bit as a result of the injury, but at first glance it could've been much worse for the second-year man out of Florida.
