Tom Brady wins AFC Player of the Month and gets his 400th TD ball back from a fan

The Patriots quarterback was named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, according to Ben Volin of The Boston Globe.

Brady finished the month with 1,112 passing yards, nine touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He completed 72% of his passes last month. All of this at age 38 and there are no signs of him slowing down. Incredible.

One of his nine touchdown passes ended up being the 400th of his career, which came last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brady found Danny Amendola in the back left corner of the end zone for the score, and Amendola ended up giving the ball to a fan.

David Bowen, the fan who got the ball from Amendola, was asked by the Patriots to return the ball in exchange for another one and a chance to meet Brady. Bowen happily obliged.

Bowen has been a season ticket holder since 1985.

Per Owen Boss of The Boston Herald:

“He was very generous, he was very nice to us,” Bowen said. “It was overwhelming, it’s something I’ll remember forever.”

“He signed some stuff for me and thanked me for returning the ball,” Bowen said. “I got to congratulate an icon on this amazing accomplishment and what he’s done. It was great.”

Great gesture by Brady and the Pats, as well as Bowen to give the ball back.
