Rex Ryan will make IK Enemkpali a captain against the Jets

Rex Ryan has no chill.

The boisterous head coach of the Buffalo Bills will make IK Enemkpali, the linebacker who broke Geno Smith's jaw when he was with the Jets in training camp, a captain this weekend when the Bills take on the Jets for the first time since Ryan took over on the Buffalo sideline.

And Ryan knows exactly what he's doing. He was quoted as saying he's going to do whatever he wants, even if he catches heat for it.

“I’ll get ripped,” Ryan said in a news conference Monday. “Whatever. I do this all the time.”

Yes he does. He did this in 2009 when the Jets played the Patriots for the first time under Ryan. He appointed players on his roster that were former Patriots as his team captains that day. One of them was Kevin O'Connell. Yeah, remember that guy?

Ryan said naming Enemkpali a captain isn't just to troll the Jets. He wants to use all his linebackers this weekend.

"I think he's a good player," Ryan said. "We played him in this game this past week and I thought he did a decent job for us. He's backing up two great players with Mario (Williams) and (Jerry) Hughes but we were able to put him in a package last week that got him in the game a little and we'll see about him doing it. But I like him. He's a good player."

This could be a recipe for disaster.
