Breaking: Pats place DT Dominique Easley on injured reserve

Well this sucks.

According to CSNNE's Tom E. Curran, the Patriots have placed defensive tackle Dominique Easley on injured reserve.
The nature of the injury is currently unknown, and the move to IR comes as a pretty big shock. First reports out of the action declared the injury "nothing serious," with Pats fans breathing a sigh of relief. Easley went down in the fourth quarter Sunday night with what the team declared as a thigh injury.

The second-year man out of Florida was having a breakout season on the interior of the line, with much of his work coming as a result of how much attention he draws from offensive linemen, and how much pressure he puts on the QB.
This one hurts, but the team has enough depth on the D-Line to manage with the loss, especially considering how they rotate their players in and out like a turnstile. The grouping of Malcolm Brown, Alan Branch can hold down the fort along with Akiem Hicks and Sealver Siliga, all the while Chandler Jones, Rob Ninkovich and Jabaal Sheard continue to bring pressure on the edge.

On the season, Easley had recorded 15 total tackles, two sacks to go along with the 24 QB hurries.
