Jonathan Cooper gets carted off field due to apparent foot injury

Well, that sucks. The one position where the Patriots can't afford any injury setbacks is at offensive line, and one of our possible centerpieces on that front just got carted off the field on the second day of practice.

Jonathan Cooper was acquired in the Chandler Jones with Arizona, and was a highly touted prospect coming out of college. Attending the University of North Carolina, he was a consensus All-American his junior year and was one of the key blockers paving the way for Giovani Bernard, who now plays for the Bengals. Cooper was drafted by the Cardinals with the seventh overall pick back in 2013, and he was considered one of the top players in that entire draft. Fast forward 3 years later to now, and you could almost consider him at bust status. Injuries and poor play have derailed his career up to this point, but Bill Belichick must have thought a change of scenery could return Cooper to his college form. However, this might have been to no avail, as today he suffered yet another injury, which appears to be a plantar fascia issue, according to Ian Rapoport on Twitter.

This a tough break for Cooper, who very well could have been a key part along the offensive line if he returned to form, but now, his roster spot is the least of his worries.
