Bryan Stork diagnosed with fourth concussion in four years

Stork's repeated concussion issues are threatening his career at this point
Well, we now know why center Bryan Stork has been missing from practice since Saturday, and it's not good news for the third year player.

In the short term, this missed time is giving David Andrews a chance to run away with what had been a closely contested battle for the starting center job. However, Stork has much bigger issues to consider given his troubling history of head injuries. This marks the fourth consecutive season that he's been diagnosed with a concussion, going back to his senior season at Florida State. Last year saw lingering concussion symptoms land him on the IR-designated to return list, costing him half of the season.

The decision to keep playing despite repeated concussions is ultimately Stork's to make, but at this point he's faced with a tough decision given what we know about the long-term effects of CTE. An early retirement would be a shame after the promise Stork showed as a rookie, but one would hope that he makes the right decision for himself and his health. Even if he does decide to continue his career, it would be shocking to see him back on the practice field any time soon.
