‘Gifts from the Gridiron:’ A Patriots shopping experience

Matt West | Boston Herald

The Patriots’ annual ‘Gifts from the Gridiron’ event took place Tuesday night, at the Bass Pro Shops in Patriot Place.

Pat Patriot, players, alumni and cheerleaders were all in attendance as 50 children from local community programs such as Old Colony YMCA, The Friendly House, Victory Programs, Crossroads and Community Care Alliance, went on their shopping sprees. Each child was given a $400 gift card to use for winter apparel, gifts and other items for themselves and their loved ones.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Malcolm Mitchell, Devin McCourty, Dont’a Hightower, Dion Lewis, Nate Solder and many more were teamed up with a shopping buddy to help the kids pick out their favorite items and wrap them.

The night was filled with a dinner, holiday music, shopping, wrapping and quality bonding time as everyone got into the Christmas spirit.
