Before now, wide receiver Brandin Cooks only got to see Tom Brady from an opponent’s point of view, but now that he’s a New England Patriot, Cooks is learning a whole new side of the franchise’s quarterback.
When speaking at his first in-person Q&A with New England reporters on Tuesday, the 23-year-old had a lot to say about his first impressions of TB12 and his new team.
“Amazing,” Cooks said, “His attention to detail and how focused he is. It’s something that I look at him and try to strive to be just like that. Obviously, the game on TV, he’s amazing. But to see him now, in person and his study habits, is awesome.”
The wide receiver is coming off of back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the New Orleans Saints where he caught 162 passes with 17 touchdowns over the past two years.
To say Cooks is excited for his new journey is an understatement. He mentioned in his press conference that he is working hard to make sure he learns the ins and outs of the playbook every chance he gets and that he loves the way the Patriots organization works.
“I’m excited to join a group like this,” he said, “To come here and do my job and do what I have to do to help this receiver core be better and help the offense, that’s what it’s all about.”
