Peyton Manning had a lot of jokes and punchlines last night as he hosted the 25th Annual ESPY Awards, but Julian Edelman decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

The New England Patriots won the ESPY for Best Game for their epic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. So when Edelman and company took the stage to accept the award, the wide receiver decided to throw a playful jab back in Peyton’s direction.

“You know, I never really thought I’d say this, but Peyton Manning is kind of killing it,” he said, “We are indoors though.”

Edelman was referring to the fact that everyone thought Manning played better in a dome than outside. Most of his career was spent inside the RCA Dome and Lucas Oil Stadium with the Indianapolis Colts, and his indoor numbers are actually lower than his outdoor numbers.

Manning played 92 regular season games in a dome with a passer rating of 99.1, while his outdoor games totaled 136 and a passer rating of 94.0.

So Jule’s burn was well-justified, and the New England Patriots/Peyton Manning rivalry continues on.
