Tre'Davious White says Bills won't seek retaliation against Gronk

USA Today Sports

If you were nervous about Tre'Davious White trying to pick a fight and/or injure Gronk this weekend, you might not have to be, unless of course you're me.

White says he and his Bills teammates won't look to retaliate when they come to Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The goal for the Bills is to hold on to the final wild card spot.

ESPN:

“We know if we go out there and try do anything selfish or anything to hurt the team, we can cost ourselves a playoff spot -- or one of our main players -- by going out there and doing something stupid,” White said. “We need everybody. It’s going to be a total team effort. We gonna definitely need everybody on the field to beat this team. We gonna put that on the back burner and just focus on winning.”

Just days after the game, White and others had made comments about going after Gronk when the two teams met again. White even texted former NFLer-turned media dope Ryan Clark saying "the whole hood want 'em." That looks like smoke and mirrors now, but at the time, that had to scare a lot of Pats fans.

Since then, White has backed off of those comments.

In an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, White said he doesn't think Gronk is truly a dirty player.

“as I’ve had time to think about it, I knew he wasn’t that type of player.”

“It was just getting over it,” he said. “After the game -- well, the week [after] it -- it was just still lingering on me. Just as I got a chance to think about it, that was childish. It was childish. But I got over it and I’m past it. I’m just focused on winning.”

What Gronk did was obviously stupid and he deserved to be punished. I'm glad White's OK and isn't going to do anything equally as dumb. It should make for a more entertaining afternoon.
