Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be sticking around San Francisco for quite a while.

The former Patriots backup quarterback signed a five-year, $137.5 million deal with the 49ers. He will make an average of $27.5 million per year, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

New England traded Garoppolo to San Fran in October and all they got back was a second-round pick. Between the Patriots and 49ers, he has started seven games and won all of them.

And while that might be a small sample size, anyone who has watched Garoppolo can see he has all the tools to become a franchise quarterback.
