Josh McDaniels' agent has cut ties with him amidst Colts drama

Josh McDaniels and Bob LaMonte are no longer working together.

LaMonte, who was McDaniels' agent up until today, told McDaniels he was making the biggest mistake of his professional career by backing out of the Colts' head coaching job.

LaMonte is also the agent for Colts general manager Chris Ballard, so there's obviously some weird tension there. He reportedly told McDaniels he was committing career suicide.

ESPN:

When McDaniels told him he was staying in New England, LaMonte replied that McDaniels was "committing professional suicide," according to the source.

McDaniels is going to get long-term stability from the Patriots, which could mean he'll become the team's next head coach whenever Bill Belichick decides to retire. So this move may not be career suicide after all.
