Marcus Cannon is expected to return before the regular season starts

A big part of the Patriots' offensive line should be returning to the fold soon.

Marcus Cannon, who hasn't practiced with the team since Aug. 1, is expected to return to the team before the start of the regular season on Sept. 9 against the Houston Texans.

Marcus Cannon is expected to return from his injury absence in time for the regular season, if not sooner, according to a source.

Cannon missed most of last season with an ankle injury and has had a laundry list of injuries throughout his career. Cannon's health this season will be huge for New England's offensive line. The older Tom Brady gets, the more important protecting him becomes.
