Big relief: Sony Michel considered week-to-week

New England Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as it was revealed that Sony Michel has no structural damage to his knee. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Michel underwent an MRI on Monday and will now be considered “week-to-week.”

After getting his foot and leg twisted while being tackled, the rookie running back was helped to the sideline and then carted to the locker room early in the second quarter of the team’s 38-31 win over Chicago.

With just two other running backs on the roster (James White and Kenjon Barner), Michel’s diagnosis comes as good news.

In typical Bill Belichickian-fashion, he didn’t add much of an insight to Michel’s injury during his day-after-game conference call but he did claim the team could potentially look at adding a running back.

“We’ll take a look at that over the next day or two and try to figure it out so when we start practicing for Buffalo, we’ll be ready to go,” Belichick said. “We’ll look at our options and see what we feel like the best thing is and see how long we think Sony might be out.”
