Patriots Acquire TE Eric Saubert

Early this Monday morning, the New England Patriots acquired tight end Eric Saubert from the Atlanta Falcons for a conditional seventh round pick.
The Patriots are acquiring third-year tight end Eric Saubert from the Falcons in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft choice, per sources. Saubert is in his third sesson from Drake.

This isn't too impactful of a move. We know the Patriots were left quite depleted at the tight end position after the retiring of Rob Gronkowski. Adding a little bit of depth is a pretty smart move especially when it costs you next to nothing. But, there really is no reason to get excited here. This guys been in the league two full seasons so far and has only caught five passes. Wouldn't be surprised if he got cut within a week.
But, as always, we know Bill Belichick and the Patriots are playing chess when the rest of the league is playing checkers, so you never know what could happen.
