Patriots sign kicker Mike Nugent
(cbssports.com)
After bringing in various kickers, former soccer players and trick shot specialists, the Patriots have settled on 37-year old Mike Nugent.
Nugent spent the bulk of his career with the Bengals and Jets, and has bounced around for the past three years.
In addition to signing Nugent, the team is also bringing in Younghoe Koo to the practice squad.
Because of his hip surgery, it is unlikely that Gostowski will be taken off IR, so the Pats will likely ride Nugent for the year. Nugent's teams are also 0-5 in the playoffs, so hopefully he will gain some good playoff experience this year.
