Patriots release WR Greg Salas weeks after trading for him

This is just over two weeks since trading for him. Salas was brought over in a trade with the Rams the day after Deion Branch was cut from the roster. Could this mean Branch returns? Who knows.

Some have speculated that Josh McDaniels has had some influence on Belichick as far as roster moves. As Brandon Lloyd, Greg Salas and Michael Hoomanawanui have all come to the Patriots after being with McDaniels in St. Louis last year, where he was offensive coordinator.

Salas obviously didn't pan out and Homanawanui isn't looking too great either, that seems to be reaffirmed by the team agreeing to terms with Kellen Winslow once Hernandez went down. Proving they dont have confidence in Hoo-man. By the way, the Patriots can't release Hoo-man until after Week 3 since he was signed off of someone's practice squad.

Lex Hilliard has another slight McDaniels tie as he was brought on to fill a full back type role, something the Patriots did without while McDaniels was gone.

McDaniels doesn't have the best track record with personnel after his stint in Denver. Do you think he's influencing the decisions in New England, and is that a mistake?
