Patriots players enjoyed embarrassing the Jets as much as we did

Boston Herald:
“Anytime you win a game in the division, it’s a good thing, especially when you’re playing the Jets on Thanksgiving Day,” Wes Welker said. “It made the win extra special.”

The 49-19 blowout had much more to it than a lopsided score. Rob Ninkovich was asked after the game if it the whole series of events felt even better because it was the Jets.

“Yeah, definitely, of course,” he responded.

When asked about the fans leaving at halftime, when it was 35-3, Ninkovich interjected, “I think the second quarter, actually.”

Fans at MetLife Stadium were tweeting that Fireman Ed left by halftime. That was right about the time the Patriots essentially ended the Jets’ season, and they were clearly happy about it.

“It’s a good feeling,” Ninkovich said. “You know that you’re doing something right on the defensive side of the ball to get them so frustrated that they’re leaving early. It’s always a great feeling coming to a place, and at the end of the game, there are more Patriots fans in the crowd than Jets fans.”

Just amazing.

I love beating the Jets. I love embarrassing them even more. I'm glad that the Patriots share this sentiment.

I was kind of surprised by the outcome, I honestly thought that the Patriots had a chance to lose. Mainly due to the loss of Gronkowski and Chandler Jones combined with the short week.

My favorite part of the win was how the Patriots didn't even really practice this week. They just had one walkthrough. There was no excuse for the Jets to lose as terribly as they did, except that they are awful.

I'm just happy to have maybe finally shut up Rex Ryan.
