Houston Texans safety Danieal Manning must think Tom Brady is someone else

The Boston Herald was reviewing their transcripts from an interview with Houston Texans safety Danieal Manning when they found this quote from him about beating Tom Brady:

“I’m 2-1 with Brady,” Manning said. “Beaten him twice and lost once to him in Chicago. It was a real cold, snowy day and they came with it, they balled out on us.”

Manning played for the Chicago Bears from 2006-2010 and then for Houston for the 2011 season until present. So he does recall in detail the Bears' 2010 36-7 loss to the Patriots during the crazy snow game.

But the issue with Manning's quote is that he has never beaten Tom Brady in his NFL career. In fact, his only other professional meeting with Brady was in 2006, when the Patriots beat the Bears 17-13. The Herald also notes that the two never met in high school or college.

So does Manning mistake Brady for someone else? Has he been hit in the head too many times? Or have Manning and Brady been secretly playing Madden with each other and Manning might be chalking up his video game victories?

We will probably never know the answer, but as Patriots fans, let's hope that Brady remains undefeated against Danieal Manning in NFL games. At least by anyone else's standards aside from Manning himself.
