Quotes from Welker's first interview as a Denver Bronco
I dunno if you guys heard, but Wes Welker left the New England Patriots for the Denver Broncos yesterday. (Check out my views on the whole thing here) Today he had a presser to talk about his move. Here are a few quotes courtesy of Christopher Price on Twitter (Who can be found @cpriceNFL).
Right, the key points here: He's gonna miss Tom Brady. The two clearly had a great relationship both on and off the field, so this is understandable. And it's also clear he wanted to go to Denver. And why wouldn't he? With him about now, that becomes one of the best offenses in the NFL, led by the 2nd best QB of the 21st century in Peyton Manning. When the only other team looking at you is the Tennessee Titans, I'd be pitching myself to John Elway too.... Finally, the departure was on good terms. This is mainly because Welker and Bill Belichick are professionals, and their professional relationship had definitely come to an end. The NFL is a business, both realize this.
All in all, nothing surprising here. Welker got this press conference right. And not only are the team and Welker on good terms, the fans and Welker are on good (well, better) terms after this too.

Welker on if he thought he'd be back after TB redid deal: You never know with those deals...you just don't try to think about it too much.
