Welker speaks again about leaving New England
Everyone by now should know that Wes Welker left New England for Denver during the Free Agency signings. Welker went on ESPN's talk show, "Mike & Mike", and had a few more things to say about leaving the Patriots. He was asked if the negotiation became personal.
Wes Welker is a smaller guy compared to most wide receivers. It's typically harder for guys his size to get paid a lot for their work. He was asked if he felt appreciated in New England.
Most of the Patriots fans I know don't even want to hear Wes Welker's name anymore. He was such an important addition to the Pats but as he said, it's just how business works. I hope his time in Denver goes well, but I hope the Patriots season goes better.

“No, I don’t think so. I think a lot of it is just business,” Welker said. “It’s kind of the unfortunate part of the business, but it is what it is. You try to find what works for you, as far as financially and as a player and everything else. I think at the end of the day, fortunately or unfortunately, it kind of just worked out the way it did.”

“Yeah, I think so, absolutely,” he responded. “I think everything worked out really well for everybody. It was a good run and I look forward to keeping that run going in Denver.”
