Schefter Bomb: John Abraham could sign with Titans this week

Where there is Schefter smoke, there is Schefter fire.

Or something.

The Titans hosted John Abraham for two whole days last week. They were the sixth team to hold such a visit, but the only one to really get this far.

The reason for the hold up has been, well, Abraham. He's an aging veteran that's a free-agent in a market that's been unusually low priced. He's asking for $5 million, even if he isn't playing well. Keep in mind that $5 million a year is more than Osi Umenyiora got to replace Abraham in Atlanta. Most smart teams will stay away from giving out deals like that.

But, the Titans aren't a smart team.

So Abraham can just sign away his chances of ever winning a Super Bowl, and chose to take more money to waste away in Tennessee. If that's the attitude he has, he probably wouldn't have fit in well in New England after all.
