Tom Brady likely to practice today, expects to play tomorrow

Remember that time everyone thought the season was over?

Well, not everyone.

This was the most overhyped injury of all time. I was at practice and saw it happen. Brady came back about 30 seconds afterwards. He played for awhile afterwards too. It seemed like the leg was bothering him, but it definitely didn't look like an ACL tear, something we've seen far too often recently in Boston sports.

Turns out it was just a knee bruise.

ProFootballTalk:
Brady intends to practice today and play in Friday night’s preseason game against the Buccaneers, Ed Werder of ESPN reports.

The injury has been described by some reports as a knee sprain, but Werder’s sources said it was more of a bruise, and that assuming another examination doesn’t reveal something different, Brady is going to be good to go.

If it's not significant enough to keep Brady out of even a preseason game, I don't think there's much to worry about here.

It sure did remind us of how terrible we all felt back in 2008 though. Thankfully we won't have to turn over the reins to Ryan Mallet or Tim Tebow just yet.
