Patriots extend Belichick's contract, will be coaching "for a long time"

Very little details are known about Bill Belichick's contract. It has been that way since he became the Patriots coach. What we did know was that after his contract was renewed in 2007, it was set to expire after this season. That is no longer true.

According to Ian Rapoport, sources have informed him that Bill's contract has been extended and he will be coaching "for a long time." Beyond this, no details are known about the deal.

Many have speculated that end of the run in New England for Bill and Tom Brady will coincide. That may still be true, but it is comforting to know that the two are under contract for at least a few more years here in New England.

Their window to win another Super Bowl together is closing, but it is not closed yet.

In Bill we trust.
