Rob Gronkowski sounding unlikely to play Sunday

The Gronk watch continues.

Patriots star tight end is recovering from multiple forearm surgeries, and a back surgery. It was reported that he could return as soon as Week 2, and ever since then rumors have circulated each week as to whether or not he would be playing. He's been a limited participant in practice thus far.

According to ProFootballTalk, he could miss at least one more week.

"A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio that Gronkowski is currently viewed as unlikely to play in Sunday’s game at Cincinnati," writes Michael David Smith. "Making for five straight weeks to start the season that Gronk is sidelined."

Adam Schefter also is hearing the same thing.

With Gronk missing the first five weeks of the season, he's almost missed the same amount of time he would've if he had been placed on the PUP list to start the season. Of course, he wouldn't have been able to be practicing all this time if that were the case.

If I were to guess, Gronk should return next week for a home game against the New Orleans Saints.
