Steve Gregory to miss a few weeks with broken thumb

Depending on how you look at it, this is good news.

It seemed like Gregory could possibly be out for the year after sustaining that thumb injury in the third quarter of the Steelers game. According to Schefter, he will only miss a few weeks, which with the bye week, means he'll only probably miss two games.

Patriots safety Steve Gregory broke his thumb and is expected to be sidelined a few weeks, per league sources.

Gregory has been the signal caller for the defense with Jerod Mayo out of the lineup. Those duties have now been handed off back to linebacker Dont'a Hightower.
