Sherman: Patriots win gave us confidence

Remember when Seattle beat the Patriots in October of 2012? That win apparently gave the Seattle Seahawks a belief that they could be a great team, according to Richard Sherman.

Here's what he had to say, according to NESN:
“That was when it dawned on us that we could be great, in that Patriots game,” Sherman said on Tuesday during media day. “Earl [Thomas] could’ve had a multiple-pick game — he was running around everywhere — and we saw how elite we could be, because we were playing against a Hall of Fame quarterback. That really builds confidence.”

Seattle has a 20-6 record since then and a chance to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history come Sunday. That was also when Richard Sherman started to be noticed as an elite corner. Whether or not Seattle's impressive run this season ends with a title remains to be seen, but Sherman could really cement himself as the best corner in the game if he shows up big against Denver.
