Dustin Keller, possible Pats target, "good to go"

Dustin Keller, ex-Jets tight end, is fully recovered from a devastating knee injury suffered last preseason, his agent says per CSNNE. This could be good news for the Pats because they are looking to add depth at tight end either through the draft or by adding a veteran like Keller.

Per Tom Curran of CSNNE:
His agent, Eugene Parker, recently said Keller will be ready for 2014. That being the case, anticipate Keller being on New England’s radar post-draft.

I personally would like to see the Patriots go the "draft a tight end" route rather than sign Keller. Side note: C.J. Fiedorowicz is one possibility the Patriots have looked at. Why? Keller is coming off a serious knee injury - we already have one tight end who is injury prone and if Gronk can't play for the first few weeks of the season (hope that doesn't happen again), I would rather see the Patriots get someone that they can rely on to fill in, and I think they'd do better getting that guy through the draft.

In Keller's defense, though, if he can play at the start of the season, then he is a solid pass catcher and bringing him on board would be a plus in that respect. If the Patriots were to sign him post-draft (and they go after a QB or a defensive player) and he stays healthy, than I would be on board with it. I'm just not sure about the healthy part, though.
