What Joe Haden contract means for Darrelle Revis

courtesy cbssports.com
Joe Haden, a cornerback for the Cleveland Browns has joined the club. The club of cornerback's getting an insane amount of money for quality playing.

After Richard Sherman got the largest contract by any cornerback in NFL history we thought we had seen it all. But now, Haden has his. Here is what Haden got according to ProFootballTalk.com:

$14 million signing bonus.
$22 million fully guaranteed at signing.
$23 million guaranteed for injury.

But what does this mean for the Patriots and Darrelle Revis? Quite honestly it means one thing. If he plays well, he is going to be looking for a ton of money, and the Patriots will have to give it to him in order for him to stay. They don't have a choice, because the Browns and Seahawks have set the pace for quality cornerbacks. Granted it doesn't mean we have to throw in over $60 million, but ill be damned if the Pats can get away with spending less than $20 million.

The name of the game I guess, spend the money to get the quality plays.
