PFT ranks Patriots as 4th best NFL team heading into the season

Pro Football Talk has been gradually unveiling their preseason power rankings in recent weeks, and it took all the way until #4 before the Patriots name showed up. While the exact order of the Top 3 teams will not be revealed until tomorrow, the Pats will fall behind only Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver in PFT's pecking order.

The Patriots finished last season as the second best team in the AFC, falling to Peyton Manning in a difficult AFC Championship loss where Brady and the offense struggled to get anything going, while the defense could not get Manning off of the field.

PFT cites the addition of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner in the secondary as a major reason why the team should be among the league's best, but also points to constant injury concerns with Rob Gronkowski as an area of weakness, along with an unproven receiving group.

I think PFT has placed the Pats exactly where they belong heading into the season. Check out the complete rankings to this point here.
