Desean Jackson might miss tonight's game with an ankle injury

Personally think its great that Jackson opted to wear number 1.

It's hard to get excited for preseason games, let's be honest.

Fans can rejoice in the heralding of a new football season, but the games themselves? Aside from the third week, there isn't much to get the juices flowing. Especially with Tom Brady reportedly getting a rest.

Still, one of the things we had to look forward to was the debut of Darrelle Revis. Not only that, but the matchup of Revis vs speedy wide receiver Desean Jackson in his Redskins introduction.

We may also be robbed of that. Jackson pulled up lame early on in practice yesterday and did not return.

Jackson was brought to the locker room after being tended to by a trainer, and did not return to yesterday's walkthrough.

There is no guarantee that he will miss tonight's game, nor any reports indicating as such. However, logic would seem to dictate that a star receiver with a bum ankle would probably not be risked in a meaningless preseason game.

The call is Jay Gruden's and the Redskins medical staff, but it's something that bears watching as the day progresses.
