Tom Brady talks Brandon LaFell's progress, calls Edelman and Amendola "pygmies"

Per Mike Giardi of CSNNE:
“He keeps making more plays,” said quarterback Tom Brady. “He’s understanding better and better. He’s a veteran. He’s savvy, knows how to run the routes, big body, big frame, makes a lot of tough catches.”
Training camp didn't start off the way LaFell would have liked, though. His issues with dropping passes were well-documented in Carolina, and that surfaced at the beginning of camp. Reports on him lately have been positive, however.
LaFell has been a consistent pass catcher during the last couple of practices, and especially had a great practice overall on Tuesday, when he caught a pass on a slant route after being tightly covered by Redskins corner back D'Angelo Hall.
Also, did anyone see that video of him catching a pass with one hand in the back corner of the end zone? Jaw-dropping.
Brady hasn't had many tall receivers throughout his career, so having someone like LaFell around could be a nice change of pace, assuming he keeps his positive play up. Brady joked about the size of Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, calling them "pygmies".
“Absolutely. I've got some of the little pygmies out there like Julian and Danny and it’s nice to have a little bigger guy out there from time to time who has a bigger catch radius. Hopefully Danny and Julian don’t get mad at me for saying that. They won’t. They know I’m joking.”
Brady is great at making the most out of what he has, and that's not to say LaFell is a bad player because he isn't. But one would figure LaFell should continue to get better in the pass-catching department with Brady throwing to him (nothing against Cam Newton, but we know Brady is better).
I unfortunately won't be able to watch the game tonight because I'm out of market, but LaFell would be a guy I would have my eye on depending on how much playing time he gets.
