Tom E. Curran: Ryan Mallett could be done in New England

Ryan Mallet can probably count the amount of days he has left in New England on two hands if Tom Curran's report is correct. On PFT (Pro Football Talk) Monday afternoon, Curran has much to say on. Mallett's future in New England.

He stated that there is a great chance that Mallett plays the entire final preseason game this week in hopes to avoid injury and putting the hook on for the Patriots to pay his minimum salary.

The Patriots also want to hope that Mallett does something this week, as it could open up some trade value for the former third round Quarterback. If the Patriots can't get rid of Mallett, its going to cost them a cool $776,976 which is his base salary.

Another reason is because Mallett has to pass through waivers if he is cut, therefore a worse team will be forced to trade for him if they want him. Either way, here's hoping that Mallett is packing during the week and making time to book a one way flight out of Boston
