Rob Gronkowski participates in full 11 on 11s, Tom Brady throws many picks and more

Today's Patriots practice session was jam packed with news.

Most of it good.

Not only did new acquisition Jerel Worthy hit the practice field, but All-Pro linebacker Jerod Mayo returned. As did tight end Michael Hoomanawanui - who will be sorely needed with the Pats so thin at tight end.

Speaking of tight ends, star Rob Gronkowski finally returned to participating in 11 on 11s. This is a great sign for the player as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered last season.

With Gronk now taking part in every part of practice, it becomes more optimistic for him to play in Week 1, which is still far from a sure thing. You can still likely count on him not suiting up in any preseason games, however.

For what it's worth, Gronk did reiterate a desire to play all 16 games to reported after practice today.

As for Gronk's quarterback, Tom Brady, he struggled a bit today. Of course, that's hard to say definitively without being present, but he did make a couple of highlights for the defense. Malcolm Butler made some highlights of his own, picking off Brady and forcing yet another fumble.
