How many receptions will Julian Edelman have? Over/Under 90
It is time for another installment of Over/Under. Today, we are discussing how many receptions Julian Edelman will have this season. The line has been set at 90. Will go over or under? Let's break it down.
Over/Under: 90 receptions
Prediction: 97 receptions (Over)
Julian Edelman quickly became Tom Brady's favorite (and most reliable) target during his 2013 season. With the absence of tight end, Rob Gronkowski, and Wes Welker leaving for the Denver Broncos, the middle of the field was truly Edelman's playground. He managed to have 105 receptions for over 1,000 yards and added 6 touchdowns. Last year Edelman left Patriots fans saying, "Welker who?"
This was hard to predict since Brady has some new and old faces in his arsenal. There is no doubt in my mind that Edelman will benefit from teams focusing on Gronkowski. During the 2011 season, Brady managed to share the wealth with Welker and Gronk on the field. Welker hauled in 122 receptions, had over 1,500 yards. Gronk managed to have himself quite a year also with exactly 90 receptions and over 1,300 yards.
Given all of this information that I have shared, I predict 97 receptions from Edelman for 1,150 yards. I think this is the year that Julian bumps up his average yards per reception. He will make his fantasy owners very happy!
