Breaking Madden has Tom Brady defy the odds!

For over 25 years, the Madden NFL video game continues to be a fixture of pop culture. People all over, pick up their controllers and spend countless hours playing Madden. This game has ruined relationships, friendships, and lives with its addictive qualities. With the rise of social media and people like Jon Bois, Maddenites continue to have their addictions fed.

Jon Bois, a contributor for SB Nation, started a segment called "Breaking Madden". In this segment, Bois creates funny scenarios and play them out in the Madden video game. Some of his most common scenarios include:

  • Playing as Geno Smith on the Jets with Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez as his receivers
  • Disabling offsides
  • Removing Peyton Manning's offensive line
His latest creation has been cleverly named "Edge of Tom-orrow", based on the Sci-Fi movie starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.  Like the movie, Tom Brady is faced with a scenario that seems to keep repeating itself until he successfully achieves his mission. Bois starts the Patriots at their own 1-yard line. The Jets defense runs a goal line blitz and the offense must run a QB sneak. Bois would continue this until Brady scampered for a 99-yard touchdown. Imagine the level difficulty given Brady's nimbleness and speed. After 343 attempts, he finally broke Brady free and scored 6 the hard way.

Is it possible that the Patriots will find themselves in a similar situation during tonight's game? If so, lets hope that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels makes the right call and that our stellar offensive line makes a large enough hole to drive two dump trucks through. Then maybe, just maybe, Brady will have a shot of scampering for a 99-yard TD.

Watch the almost trailer-esque video of Jon Bois' latest Breaking Madden experiment.
