Tom Brady was almost a Jet

No, that wasn't a misprint. Or a spelling mistake. If Jesse Kaye, Midwest regional scout for the Jets in 2000 when Tom Brady was drafted, had his way, Brady would be wearing green and white right now according to CSNNE. If Kaye had his way, Brady would have been drafted 20 slots higher by the Jets according to CSNNE. The Jets had already taken Chad Pennington that year with the 18th overall pick and decided not to take a 2nd in that draft. Kaye was promoted to director of scouting with the Jets in 2002 after the Pats won the first of 3 rings. Coincidence? Probably not - Kaye was reportedly screaming at Bill Parcells to take Brady, but the Jets didn't listen.

The Jets have made some silly moves, to put it nicely, but this might be the worst. But, I'm a Pats fan. I'm not going to complain about it - I'm pretty happy with how things have turned out since the Patriots drafted Brady. Here's to what could have been, Jets fans.
