VIDEO: CSN New England discusses Jimmy Garoppolo's development

As the Deflategate saga continues to unravel and Tom Brady continues to appeal his four-game suspension, the Patriots may very well have to prepare for (temporary) life without Brady.

The best way to do so, naturally, is by giving Jimmy Garoppolo some reps, as they enter the final week of OTAs. The third-year backup has made significant strides so far in the offseason program, at least according to CSN New England.

"There are little things that you'll notice as he sets up, he's got a very interestingly strong base," Tom E. Curran said on Sportsnet Central. "The more he practices with Tom Brady, the more he looks like Tom Brady in the little things he does."

It's the little things that are paramount in Garoppolo's development as a quarterback. While he still has a long road to go, fine-tuning his quickness, footwork and accuracy in the offseason helps the Pats significantly if they do end up missing Brady.

Curran also shed light on the March trade that sent Chandler Jones to Arizona, and figuring out how all the Patriots' options from there.

"You have to create a base rotation -- you have to figure out who can do what in what situation when you have such a plethora of players at the spot.
"Which group is the best group? Should you put all of them on the field at the same time?"
