LeGarrette Blount makes Patriots' history with 15th rushing touchdown
The Boston Globe |
It was the lone touchdown in the game, but it helped the New England Patriots secure a 16-3 victory over the Denver Broncos and landed LeGarrette Blount in the franchise’s record books.
A one-yard touchdown early in the second quarter gave the Patriots a 10-3 lead and Blount his 15th rushing touchdown on the season. He now passes Curtis Martin for the most rushing touchdowns in a single season. Martin owned the previous record with 14 rushing touchdowns in each of the 1995 and 1996 seasons.
Blount also currently leads the league in rushing touchdowns.
