The Boston Globe

It was the lone touchdown in the game, but it helped the New England Patriots secure a 16-3 victory over the Denver Broncos and landed LeGarrette Blount in the franchise’s record books.

A one-yard touchdown early in the second quarter gave the Patriots a 10-3 lead and Blount his 15th rushing touchdown on the season. He now passes Curtis Martin for the most rushing touchdowns in a single season. Martin owned the previous record with 14 rushing touchdowns in each of the 1995 and 1996 seasons.

Blount also currently leads the league in rushing touchdowns.

The running back continues to add to his standout season, as he is now up to a career-best 1,060 rushing yards so far. He also surpassed the 5,000-yard mark in his career with 5,021 yards.
