Patriots to replace Gillette Stadium field turf

After installing new synthetic field turf back in May, the Patriots have decided to uninstall it and go with another type of synthetic turf.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the current turf hasn't "met the team's standards." The Pats only played three games on the most recent turf (two preseason and the regular season opener last week), and some players reportedly complained of it being too soft.

Work to install new turf has already begun and will be ready for New England's home game next week against the Texans.
