BREAKING: Patriots to sign WR Kenny Britt to a two-year deal

Well, this is a nice surprise. The Patriots are finalizing a deal with free agent wide receiver Kenny Britt, according to Field Yates.

Britt is only 29 and posted a 1000-yard season with the Rams last year but, in a truly shocking development, didn't do much in Cleveland. This move is reminiscent of the Pats grabbing Michael Floyd late last year after the Cardinals cut him.

The catch is this is being reported as a two-year deal, so he's locked up for next season as well.

As far as this season goes, there is literally no risk involved in this and Britt adds some size (he's 6'3) to an already solid wide receiver group.

The big question now is what does this mean for Malcolm Mitchell? It looked like he could be making a comeback, but this may signal otherwise.
