Patriots sign wide receivers Corey Coleman and Bennie Fowler

Out go two receivers, in come two new ones.

After the Patriots waived Riley McCarron and Chad Hansen, the team is signing free agent wide receiver Corey Coleman. As recently as a couple weeks ago, Coleman had been shipped to the Bills from the Browns and then failed to make Buffalo's 53-man roster, which I can't say I blame him for. I'd rather scrub toilets than play in Buffalo.

Anyway, Coleman is a former first-round pick of the Browns and has been extremely underwhelming. In 19 career games, Coleman has wracked up 718 yards and five touchdowns on 56 receptions.

He probably won't help right away, but if nothing else the Patriots have added a reclamation project who doubles as depth at the position.

Additionally, the Patriots also just added former Broncos and Bears receiver Bennie Fowler.

Fowler has also had an underwhelming career to this point. In 45 games, Fowler has caught 56 passes for 698 yards and five touchdowns.
